Weekly Overview 20 - 26. February, 2023
Around 440 earthquakes were detected last week by IMO‘s SIL seismic network, which is slightly more than last week when around 370 earthquakes were detected. The largest earthquke of the week on land was M4.9 in Bárðarbunga. On the 2st of February a seismic swarm was detected about 30 km southwest of Reykjanestá, about 90 earthquakes were detected. The seismic activity continued in Herðubreið and about 70 earthquakes were detcted in the past week. On the 26th of February, eight earthquakes were detected in Mýrdalsjökull with a short interval, the largest earthquake was a M2.6.
