Activity summary:
The eruption which commenced at 23:14 UTC in Sundhnúkur crater row on 20 November has stopped. According to the latest observations from the field no activity is detected at the craters. The last detection from cameras showed glowing yesterday morning (08.12) at 07.00 UTC, but a drone survey today (09.12) at 14.00 UTC confirmed the cessation of the eruption. This seventh eruption in Sundhnúkur crater row lasted 18 days. The GPS data and InSAR images confirm that new magma has already started accumulating underneath the Svartsengi region. As the eruption has stopped the aviation color code is moved back to yellow.
