Time: 20. Mar 2024, 11:00 GMT
Color code: Orange
Volcano id: 371020
Activity summary:
The effusive eruption which commenced on 16 March continues, with a pretty stable rate over the past 24 hours.
Lava and gas are released by a series of active vents located in the southern part of the original fissure which opened in the beginning of the eruption. On 17th March SO2 fluxes up to 50 kg/s have been measured, but more recent DOAS measurements suggest the SO2 flux has reduced significantly. Preliminary data from orthophotos indicate this is the largest eruption occurring in the area.
Cloud height:
No ash is detected
Other cloud information:
The volcanic plume height is still confined within few km. No ash is detected.
